SuperProbe2 MK3AX Probe Case Kit!
(PHOTOS Show Parts of Amplifier Case and MK2 Kit NOT INCLUDED in the MK3AX KIT!)
This Limited Availability
kit includes a machined aluminum probe body, PCB carrier, tube end-caps, case insulator, copper foil and fasteners.
All pieces are CNC machined
to fit our probe PCB. All other parts to build a SuperProbe2 are provided in our SP101K2 Probe Kit and SP-CaseKit.
The black ABS case shown in the pictures (NOT INCLUDED IN KIT)
is made by Hammond, part #1593LBK 3.6" x 2.6" x1.1". Nothing smaller is really suitable,
but anything bigger will certainly work.
The Assembly:
The probe is assembled last by feeding the 4-wire cable through the back Delrin end-piece an shrink-tube and
attaching the 4-conductor signal wires to the PCB.
Make note of wire colors so that you wire the 3.5mm jack in the SuperAmp correctly. (See Doc tables)
Trim and attach the probe tip to the front of the PCB using the photos as a guide.
Fasten the PCB to the carrier with the provided #0-80 screws and attach the copper strip to the bottom of the carrier and
up to the probe end ground
where it is soldered the front ground shield. (Cut out a small piece of the copper foil from around the mounting hole to
to make inserting the screw easier.) Slide the carrier into the aluminum tube of the probe
and fasten the carrier with a 4-40 BH screw. Slide the front Delrin probe piece onto the front.
Trim the probe tip as disired about 1/8". Shrink the 1/4" tubing onto the cable where it will pass through the end-cap and fit the end-cap into the
tube. Fasten both end-caps with provided #0-80 FH screws."

- Machined Aluminum probe body and Delrin caps
- Machined acetal PCB carrier
- Copper adhesive grounding tape
- 3 #0-80 x 1/8" PCB mounting screws"
- 2 #0-80 x 5/16" cap mounting screws"
- 1 #4-40 x 1/4" carrier screw"
- Heat shrink tube to optionally insulate the metal probe
- Heat shrink tube to protect 4-wire cable
